{"id":5461,"date":"2023-02-09T17:06:43","date_gmt":"2023-02-09T17:06:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theatre.local\/baltic-take-over-7-11-junijs\/"},"modified":"2023-02-09T17:06:43","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T17:06:43","slug":"baltic-take-over-7-11-junijs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theatre.kondrats.dev\/en\/baltic-take-over-7-11-junijs\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Baltic Take Over&#8221; June 7th\u201311th in Helsinki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>The 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/homonovus.lv\/eng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Festival of Contemporary Theatre &#8220;Homo Novus&#8221;<\/a> concluded with the opening of a new cooperation project and a festival &#8220;Baltic Take Over&#8221;, where, in the presence of representatives of all the Baltic project partners, the new project website \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/baltictakeover.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">baltictakeover.com<\/a> \u2013 was officially launched.<\/p>\n<p>The Baltic Take Over is a festival that takes over the city of Helsinki in June 7th\u201311th, 2023. The festival co-curated by the New Theatre Institute of Latvia, <a href=\"https:\/\/saal.ee\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kanuti Gildi Saal <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/dance.lt\/new\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lithuanian Dance Information Centre<\/a> provides contexts in which to present Baltic work, under the lens of Baltic curators.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with four Helsinki organisations (<a href=\"https:\/\/kiasma.fi\/en\/urb-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kiasma\/ URB festivaali<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annantalo.fi\/en\/frontpage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Annantalo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viirus.fi\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teater Viirus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madhousehelsinki.fi\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mad House Helsinki<\/a>) the Baltic Partners will develop a city wide celebration with artworks from nine Baltic artists\/artist collectives.<\/p>\n<p>The urgency of this project has emerged from decades of the foreign gaze grouping three distinct countries, culture and histories, together. This take over will offer an honest presentation of Baltic Voices, individual, complicated and not always in harmony.
