Baltic Current: a think tank for sustainable performing arts in Baltics is a joint initiative of theatre Gertrudes ielas teatris (Riga, LV), Goethe Institute (DE), Kaunas City Chamber Theatre (Kaunas, LT) and performing arts platform S\u00f5ltumatu Tantsu Lava (Tallinn, EE) created to provide a platform for mutual learning, sharing of expertise and support for the next generation of performing artists from Baltics. Financial support for think tank is provided by Nordic-Baltic Mobility Program for Culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n In the core of the Baltic Current lays series of workshops for young artists to nurture their artistic practice and understanding of the current performing arts environment in the Baltics. More about the program for artists you can read here<\/a>. But the picture is not complete without performing arts organisations. Reality of today \u2013 ongoing pressing issues of climate, Covid and war \u2013 encourages us to question, re-think and re-imagine the mode and models of how we engage in the work with artists, audience, and other organisations. We invite you to join us and take a closer look on human, social, artistic, economic, and ecological aspects of the performing arts in Baltics today.<\/p>\n The think tank activities will take place in Riga, Kaunas and Tallinn in 2022, in online meetings and a final gathering in Riga in 2023. \nSeptember 23 – 25, Kaunas during festival Starting Point;
\nNovember 25 – 27, Tallinn at S\u00f5ltumatu Tantsu Lava.

\n– An actively working performing arts professional who is interested in collaboration with young artists and organisations\/producers from fellow Baltic countries.<\/p>\n
\n– Participation in the think tank is free of charge, however, participants travelling outside from the host country are responsible of covering their travel and accommodation costs.
\n– Financial support for mobility \u2013 think tank can cover two nights of simple accommodation and reimburse up to 75\u20ac of ecological travel costs within Baltic countries (bus) for 2 participants from non-local places in each city.
\n– The working language of the think tank will be English; therefore, proficiency of the language is a requirement.<\/p>\n
