Riga&#8221; included in the final of \u201cPurv\u012b\u0161a balva 2021\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>We are proud that Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo&#8217;s installation \u201cZRwhdZ. <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Riga\u201d has been selected for the final of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purvisabalva.lv\/en-2\/home\">national arts award \u201cPurv\u012b\u0161a balva 2021\u201d<\/a>. The work was made as a national exposition and\u00a0represented Latvia at the 14th Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, where it was awarded for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pq.cz\/awards-winners\/\">the best curatorial concept of an exhibit<\/a>. The producer of &#8220;ZRwhdZ&#8221; is the New Theatre Institute of Latvia (NTIL).\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">In the same year, work by Dzudzilo duo was<\/span><\/strong><strong><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">\u00a0exhibited at the Contemporary Art Center &#8220;kim?&#8221; in Riga.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The installation has been characterized by Dzudzilo with following words: &#8220;&#8221;ZRwhdZ&#8221; is like a formula, a definition of scenography. It is like the golden ratio that allows us to advance towards the perfect space. The acronym comes from Richard Wagner\u2019s last opera Parsifal, \u2018Zum Raum wird hier die Zeit\u2019, which translates as \u2018Here time becomes space\u2019. These two pillars, Time and Space, are the two legs on which scenography moves.<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago on a trip we purchased a pocket-sized music box which easily fitted on a human palm. But a human can also fit into a music box. Something can originate from this contradiction, this ambivalence that contains puerility and the loss thereof. Scenography asks questions because in its processes the world is discovered anew.\u00a0Please enter the exit!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;ZRwhdZ&#8221; is the work by scenographers and artists Krista and Re\u0146\u0161 Dzudzilo, created in collaboration with composer Krists Auznieks, instrument master Aleksandrs Meijers who co-worked with J\u0101nis Lini\u0146\u0161 and Kaspars Putri\u0146\u0161, curator Gundega Laivi\u0146a, producers Sandra Lapkovska and Klinta Harju, technical producer J\u0101nis Lini\u0146\u0161, sound engineer Ivars Ozols, &#8220;Dekor\u0101ciju darbn\u012bca&#8221;, the NTIL.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists of the &#8220;Purv\u012b\u0161a balva 2021&#8221; are eight artists and groups of artists, while the prize for lifetime contribution this year will be presented to the painter Maija Tabaka. Nominated artists and authors are mentioned below:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>&#8220;Skuja Braden&#8221;<\/strong> \u2013 exhibition &#8220;Samsara&#8221;, especially highlighting the central part of the exhibition &#8220;Ilgas alt\u0101ris&#8221;, at the Museum of Decorative Art and Design;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Valdis Celms<\/strong> \u2013 kinetic sculptures &#8220;Rhythms of Life&#8221; and &#8220;Positron&#8221; in the exhibition of the\u00a02nd Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo<\/strong> \u2013 work &#8220;ZRwhdZ&#8221; at the <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Contemporary Art Center &#8220;kim?&#8221;<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Kaspars Gro\u0161evs<\/strong> \u2013 multimedia installation &#8220;A Different Room&#8221;, which was shown at the art festival &#8220;C\u0113sis 2020&#8221;;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Ieva Kraule-K\u016bna and El\u012bna V\u012btola<\/strong> \u2013 the project &#8220;Artists&#8217; Crisis Center&#8221; in the two-year period in the gallery &#8220;Low&#8221; and the <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Contemporary Art Center &#8220;kim?&#8221;<\/span>;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Rasa and Raitis \u0160miti<\/strong> \u2013 work &#8220;Atmospheric Forest&#8221; (2017-2020) in the exhibition &#8220;Critical Zones &#8211; Earth Policy Observatories&#8221; organized by the Art and Media Center &#8220;ZKM&#8221; in Karlsruhe (Germany);<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Aija Zari\u0146a<\/strong> \u2013 solo exhibition &#8220;Wake up, wake up once, the free spirit&#8221; in the Dome Hall of Latvian National Museum of Art;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 <strong>Amanda Ziemele<\/strong> \u2013 solo exhibition &#8220;Quantum Hair Implants&#8221; at the <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Contemporary Art Center &#8220;kim?&#8221;<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition of the works of the candidates of the \u201cPurv\u012b\u0161abalva 2021\u201d will be on view in the Great Hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art from June 4, 2021. The winner of the &#8220;Purv\u012b\u0161a balva 2021&#8221; will be named on June 11. During the exhibition, visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite, which will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
