{"id":5813,"date":"2021-01-11T16:28:37","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T16:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theatre.local\/homo-novus-nominated-for-kilograms-kulturas-2020-final-vote\/"},"modified":"2021-01-11T16:28:37","modified_gmt":"2021-01-11T16:28:37","slug":"homo-novus-nominated-for-kilograms-kulturas-2020-final-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theatre.kondrats.dev\/lv\/homo-novus-nominated-for-kilograms-kulturas-2020-final-vote\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Homo Novus&#8221; selected for &#8220;Kilograms kult\u016bras 2020&#8221; final vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>After the results of winter voting of the Latvian public broadcaster&#8217;s annual award in culture \u201cKilograms kult\u016bras 2020\u201d <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">the International Festival of Contemporary Theatre\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.homonovus.lv\/eng\/index\">&#8220;Homo Novus&#8221;<\/a><\/span> organized by the <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">New Theatre Institute of Latvia (NTIL) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsm.lv\/raksts\/kultura\/kilograms-kulturas\/sacies-balvas-kilograms-kulturas-2020-finala-balsojums.a390578\/\">has been selected for the final vote in the &#8220;Event&#8221; category<\/a>. The final vote will begin on February 1, and the award ceremony will take place on February 27.<span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"lv\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 25th edition of the festival took place from August 28 to September 10, 2020 in Riga and C\u0113sis, and was curated by its long-term artistic director Gundega Laivi\u0146a. To support &#8220;Homo Novus&#8221; go <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsm.lv\/raksts\/kultura\/kilograms-kulturas\/sacies-balvas-kilograms-kulturas-2020-finala-balsojums.a390578\/\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The festival programme offered 15 works of art, reached about 4,000 spectators, and offered all festival events free of charge. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homonovus.lv\/eng\/index\">&#8220;Homo Novus&#8221;<\/a> programme spoke about complex and implicit issues, representing artists from Latvia, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Italy, Norway and Chile.\u00a0By reclaiming time, space and co-creation as the basic principles of contemporary theatre, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.homonovus.lv\/eng\/index\">&#8220;Homo Novus&#8221;<\/a> created a place for radical intimacy in the midst of the pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the travel restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, which are incompatible with an international live art event, we found a way to offer an international program, inviting foreign artists to work closely with Latvian co-authors and performers from their home cities.
