On June 11, the international jury of 2019 edition of Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space announced the winners in several categories. The award for Best Curatorial Concept of an Exhibit went to Latvian exposition Z R w h d Z. Handing over the prize, the member of the jury, Head Curator of Theatre Department at Victoria & Albert Museum Kate Baily commented their decision: “This pure and elegant exhibition demonstrates an excelent execution of a curatorial vision, which took inspiration from classical opera and transformed the idea into a contemporary installation of time, space and music”.<\/p>\n

Z R w h d Z is an immersive installation, created especially for the PQ by a duo of young Latvian stage designers \/ visual artists Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo in collaboration with composer Krists Auznieks, maker of musical instruments Aleksandrs Maijers, curator Gundega Laivi\u0146a, producers Sandra Lapkovska and Klinta Harju, technical producer J\u0101nis Lini\u0146\u0161, sound engineer Ivars Ozols, company Dekor\u0101ciju darbn\u012bca and the New Theatre Institute of Latvia.<\/p>\n

The highest award of PQ, Golden Triga, went to the exhibition of the Republic of North Macedonia. The winner in the category Best Exhibition of Countries and Regions, the installation “Microcosmos” by French Philipe Quesne will be presented in Riga in September 2019 as part of the International Theatre of Contemporary Theatre Homo Novus.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Exhibition of Countries and Regions of PQ 2019 edition featured 59 countries, the Student Exibition – 47 countries and schools.\u00a0All exhibitions of PQ are open to visitors from June 6 till 16 in\u00a0V\u00fdstavi\u0161t\u011b Praha, as well as other locations in the city. The Latvian participation at PQ is a project by New Theatre Institute of Latvia and Latvian Academy of Culture with the support from State Culture Capital Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Latvian Embassy in Prague, as well as the private companies: Airos transport and logistics, Latvijas Finieris, Kr\u0101su serviss, Sporta 2 kvart\u0101ls.<\/p>\n
