From June 4-30 we are hosting an international residency with five emerging Latvian and international artists as part of\u00a0Magic Carpets\u00a0platform\u2019s activities. During the residency theatre director M\u0101ra Ga\u0146\u0123e, video and performance artist Kate Krolle, scenographer Kri\u0161j\u0101nis Elviks, UK-based sound artist Jonathan Law and Italian site-specific installation artist and scenographer Gian Maria Tosatti are reserching and working in Riga\u2019s public space.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday 27 June at 14.00 we invite to a public presentation of the residency. The artists will take audience on tour\u00a0 in the city to share their research results. Meeting point: Balasta dambis 2, next to the former Publishing house (Preses nams). Duration of the tour is ca 3 h and we kindly ask to come with a bicycle. The presentations will be in English.<\/p>\n
On Friday 29 June 20.00 at the Brick Bar in the territory of the former factory “Bo\u013c\u0161evi\u010dka”, Jonathan Law will present his new composition based on the soundscape of the city and its building.<\/p>\n
The residency is a project of the New Theatre Institute of Latvia and part of \u201cMagic Carpets\u201d platform activities. Co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of The European Union and State Culture Capital foundation.<\/p>\n
