{"id":6152,"date":"2017-04-07T10:23:14","date_gmt":"2017-04-07T10:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theatre.local\/6-artists-propose-5-art-interventions\/"},"modified":"2017-04-07T10:23:14","modified_gmt":"2017-04-07T10:23:14","slug":"6-artists-propose-5-art-interventions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theatre.kondrats.dev\/lv\/6-artists-propose-5-art-interventions\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven artists propose five art interventions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>The New Theatre Institute of Latvia has launched\u00a0the second part of <em>Theatre Expanded<\/em> project where together with\u00a0five\u00a0selected artists we will explore and try out the artistic intervention. The term &#8220;art intervention&#8221; applies to an artistic practice\u00a0that\u00a0interacts with an existing structure or situation, be it another artwork, the audience, an institution or the public domain. In our case, the aim\u00a0is to interact with specific\u00a0social or professional groups, organisations\u00a0or fields that are not related\u00a0to art, in order to create new perspectives and possibilities there.<\/p>\n<p>The director M\u0101ra Ga\u0146\u0123e in collaboration with the Latvian Association for Blind People and eye care professionals will explore\u00a0the accessibility of Latvian theatre and the conditions for visual art experience for blind people. The choreographers Ieva Gauril\u010dikaite and\u00a0Kri\u0161j\u0101nis Sants in collaboration with resource centre for women\u00a0<em>Marta<\/em>\u00a0will analyse causes of violence and\u00a0develop positive and life affirmative game for different male groups based on phenomena of mirror neurons. The dramaturg and theatre maker\u00a0J\u0101nis Balodis will perform art intervention in the mindset of finance specialists and economists\u00a0with the aim to\u00a0test the potentiality of alternative economic models. The dramaturge Laura Lapi\u0146a&#8217;s intervention will concern with the field of public administration in order to facilitate changes in the attitude towards civil servants. Directors Toms Treinis and M\u0101rti\u0146\u0161 Zari\u0146\u0161 will work on artistic intervention in the world of plants, exploring potential of art and science collaboration and reflecting upon topics related to post-anthropocene, political ecology and colonisation of nature. The project will be developed with the help of young creative producers\u00a0Madara Sokolova and\u00a0Katr\u012bna D\u016bka.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the process and to support the young artists in their research, we organise three workshops led by the researcher and practitioner of applied theatre\u00a0Anne P\u00e4ssil\u00e4\u00a0and economist Anne\u00a0Kallio (Lahti), dramaturge Sodja Lotker (Prague) and game designer, alternative social and economic space researcher Pekko Koskinen (Helsinki).<\/p>\n<p>Photos from Anne P\u00e4ssil\u00e4 and Anne Kallio&#8217;s workshop at Ka\u0146epes
