The final seminars\u00a0of the\u00a0training programme Theatre Expanded for young performing arts managers will take place\u00a0in Rucka Artists Residency centre<\/a> in C\u0113sis from August 23 till 27 led by\u00a0invited\u00a0international curators.<\/p>\n

On August 23 and 24 the French cultural operator\u00a0Matthieu Goeury will work with the group of young professionals, focusing on the topics of artistic directing and building of the\u00a0season in a contemporary arts centre, as well as look at different unconventional festival models. On August 26 and 27 the German theatre scholar and curator Florian Malzacher will talk about performative curating practice in contemporary theatre.<\/p>\n

Florian Malzacher will start\u00a0the seminar on August 26 at 10.00 with the lecture On performative curating. <\/em>Participation in the lecture is open to anyone interested in the topic. The lecture will be held in English, free of charge, duration –\u00a01h30. Address – Rucka Artist Residency centre, Piebalgas street 19, C\u0113sis.<\/p>\n

Matthieu Goeury is a French\u00a0arts worker based in Brussels, Belgium. He is active as a producer and curator. Working in the field of performing arts, his trajectory led him to create a workspace for emerging artists (L’L), participate to the launch of a major contemporary art museum (Centre-Pompidou-Metz) and program one of the most exciting venues in Europe (Vooruit). During the last years, he created the festivals Possible Futures, (IM)Possible Futures and Smells Like Circus. He tries to apply, with more or less success, strong ethics to the projects he develops, based on social-political engagement, solidarity, pragmatism and reasonable seriousness.<\/p>\n

Florian Malzacher is an Artistic Director of Impulse Theater Festival (Cologne, Dusseldorf and Mulheim\/Ruhr in Germany) since 2012 as well as an independent performing arts curator, dramaturge and writer. 2006 till 2012 he was co-programmer of the multidisciplinary arts festival steirischer herbst<\/em> in Graz. His latest publications include amongst others \u201cTruth is concrete. A Handbook for Artistic Strategies in Real Politics\u201c (Sternberg Press Berlin, 2014) and \u201cNot Just a Mirror. Searching for the Political Theatre of Today\u201c (Alexander Verlag Berlin\/Live Arts Development Agency London<\/em>, 2015).<\/p>\n
