Spectators will be taken on a guided tour in small groups as soon as they arrive.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rucka.lv\/?page_id=449\" target=\"_blank\">Rucka artist residency centre<\/a> in C\u0113sis Piebalgas\u00a0street 19<br \/>\nFree admission<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;In their very intimate and playful performances the Japanese artist Yukiko Shinozaki and Norwegian artist Heine Avdal create dream-like, absurd in-between worlds by means of subtle shifts in reality.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0ibseninternational.com<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;carry on&#8221; is the latest work by Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki. It is an intriguing\u00a0performance-installation that each time is presented in a very different way depending on the place, be it the\u00a0contemporary arts museum in Leuven or a huge\u00a0culture complex in Tokyo. Now in collaboration with Latvian choreographer El\u012bna Lutce, it will be developed\u00a0in Rucka artist residency centre in C\u0113sis and presented only once on February 27. The visitors will be invited on a walk in Rucka manor house\u00a0where\u00a0objects, sounds and live interventions will guide them through the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3c3b3a;\">undiscovered spaces in the building and help to\u00a0find remainders of former actions while leaving traces of their own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Choreographers and performers <strong>Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki<\/strong> are based in Brussels where they work under the collective name &#8220;fieldworks&#8221;. Heine Avdal\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3c3b3a;\">studied dance, choreography and video art at the Oslo National College of the Arts and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.\u00a0<\/span>Yukiko Shinozaki first trained in\u00a0<span style=\"color: #3c3b3a;\">classical ballet in Tokyo and later studied contemporary dance and psychology\u00a0in USA and worked as a performer\u00a0in New York. They met when they both joined the company \u00a0Damaged Goods run by the\u00a0radical American choreographer\u00a0Meg Stuart. Since 2000 Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozki have been working together and have\u00a0created more than 15 different projects, often\u00a0collaborating with various artists. They\u00a0create performances, installations, video works and interventions for stage and for\u00a0non-theatrical environments, infiltrating discreetly into the everyday reality. The works by &#8220;fieldworks&#8221; characteristically use playful, mute communication that brings\u00a0spectators into an unusual and poetic world.<br \/>\n<\/span>In 2015 &#8220;fieldworks&#8221; presented the performance &#8220;distant voices&#8221; in the International festival of Contemporary Theatre <a href=\"http:\/\/homonovus.lv\/eng\/index\" target=\"_blank\">Homo Novus<\/a> in Riga.<br \/>\n<strong>El\u012bna Lutce<\/strong> studied dance and choreography in Riga. After the graduation of the Latvian Academy of Culture in 2011, she has collaborated with theatre directors Elm\u0101rs Se\u0146kovs and Viesturs Kairi\u0161s on several notable theatre productions. El\u012bna&#8217;s latest solo work &#8220;Corpus&#8221; has been created\u00a0in collaboration with visual artist Krista Dzudzilo.\u00a0As a performer El\u012bna took part in the series of <em>Dance Moves Cities<\/em> project organised in 2014 by the New Theatre Institute of Latvia where she worked with choreographers Koen Augustijnen, Willi Dorner and <em>contact Gonzo<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Photo: Eivind Seljeseth<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The residency and performance in Rucka is an activity of\u00a0the project\u00a0&#8220;Regions.Art.Nature&#8221; (EEZLV04\/GSKA\/2013\/04) which\u00a0is financed by\u00a0\u00a0a grant of 54028 EUR from Island, Lichtenstein and Norway via the EEA Financial Mechanism.
